This discussion as with many others that we opine on regarding bee behavior post relocation too often fails to account for the fact that the only surviving bee in the colony after a few weeks and in the case of foragers often a few days is the queen. She never leaves the hive and presumably is not influenced by outside conditions.
That leads to the conclusion that all the bees save one in a very short while are "locally adapted". That for sure is an idea that should be rightly discarded.
