To put it in simple terms, the scientific method demands proof, which denies faith.
Hebrews 11:1 describes "faith" best: "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."
Science is exactly the opposite, it is the substance of things *proven*, the evidence of things *seen*.
One may quibble with the level of proof offered in support of this or that, or take issue with the type of evidence, but it is clearly the anthesis of the concept of "faith".
