Like Paul Hostika, I have been in the OAER camp fully since 2018. The following data is the average mite drop (mites/100 bees) for all of my colonies (varied from 12 to 20 yearly) at the end of month from March through November. My OAER treatments from 2018 through 2020 were shop towels, 2021 was Swedish sponges, and 2022 was maximizer pads. All treatment began roughly June 1. All colonies were also treated with Formic Pro in October. The results show how well the oxalic acid contained mite infestations in the summer months which permitted me to rob honey three times during that period rather than using other miticides that cannot be used with honey supers on the hives.
