In a similar vein, I use an AOL email address (and the AOL browser, running on Windows 10) for my account and have noticed that Bee-L can't handle the "send copy to myself" nor the "send private message" reply functions from/to messages posted here. I get an AOL-specific error message from Bee-L whenever I forget about this.
I don't "subscribe" to the list (which I presume means having messages directly relayed to your email account) simply because I don't like to have a message-heavy inbox. I prefer to come to the Bee-L web-page and read messages in coherent threads, so the lack of email functionality doesn't disturb me. (When I want to reply privately, I just have to remember to use the visible address next to a member's name, along with something in the email header that may alert the recipient that it is something bee-related or originating from Bee-L posts.)
While this works for me, perhaps other potential users are flummoxed by this.
Nancy
