You answered your own question: "all large pollination events in the US
would be well over $100/hive."

This is what has occurred with almond pollination, which has gone from
$10/hive to $225 during my career.  This is what is currently happening in
Peru due to massive expansion of the blueberry plantings.

The market works things out.
