This advertisement illustrates something that we have lost. Queens were once sold with more integrity, meaning you could make an informed decision about your purchase. In this case, an untested queen. You could also opt for a tested queen and pay a little more. Today, what do we know about the fecundity of US mass-produced queens? Our friends up north recently challenged our assumptions, claiming our queen stock holds less sperm than their domestics.
