>The question should be: "what triggers supercedure in a colony." When that
condition is not met, the colony will fail to supercede.

The cues for supersedure, developed over eons, have likely not changed.
The question is, what has changed in recent years?  One or more cues, or
the behavioral responses of the bloodlines that we keep?
