Only when one is stingy with the CO2.

One needs a largish fire extinguisher.  -40 to -60 F kills insects quickly, but this is a close-range effect, of course.   Something bigger than the typical kitchen-sized extinguisher one would find in a home kitchen.  Think the 20Kg "wheeled unit" size that comes on its own handtruck, kept in in airplane hangers and near warehouse truck bays.
