How quickly (daily rate increase) does a queen ramp up her queen laying late winter/early spring? (Spring ramp up)
(references please)
Factors affecting increase:
-Health of queen
-Health of colony (i.e. Nosema)
-Ability of bees to keep brood nest warm (size of spring cluster)
-Available protein source
-Available honey/carbohydrate source
-Water Availability
-Others?
Do we know how much water (or equivalent) goes into producing one bee (egg to bee emergence)?
