> Contrary to what some preach, It does not take full resistance (an impossible goal?) in a population to greatly reduce AFB in an operation. Simply removing the most susceptible from the gene pool on a continuing basis greatly reduces the reservoir of disease and incidence.

This is exactly what is so hard to get across to people about human vaccination against viruses and other diseases. It is the most susceptible that must be protected, and by not exposing them to well-developed communicable carriers, it reduces the reservoir of disease from which mutations can emerge.
