But they keep mite levels so low, that I wouldn't expect to see signs of
varroa removal.


One of our breeders in CT, that has a Harbo line as part of his stock, noticed a few years back that certain colonies in that line ran with a significant amount of bald brood. Grafts from those queens show promise for resistance and some have been TF for a few years.  He breeds the same way Randy does, strickly on mite numbers and flooded drone yards. His description of the amount of bald brood in those colonies is extreme. I hope to run some of those queens this year.
