E.T.Ash snippet:

> 'comb' in the words of one of my commercial employers was 'his capital'.

But the ***lost opportunity cost*** of not having drawn comb is worth far
more than mere "capital".
This is not just the primary factor in a calculation.... it is the only one
worth doing.
Timing is the sole "capital" of the truly enlightened operation, as 10,000
supers of drawn comb are worthless unless they are deployed to the correct
yards at the correct time.

Even the hobbyist can find that beekeeping can be a morass of regret and
missed opportunities if one is not working well ahead of the seasons - was a
Jim Tew slide, or a Bee Culture magazine illustration that showed a
beekeeper assembling woodenware while a package of bees sits to one side? -
that joke never gets old.
