It wasn't so long ago, that beekeepers used sodium cyanide to merely control wax moth, and thought nothing of it.
That is, until some fellow thought so little of it that he let 3 barrels bounce out of the back of his pickup truck unnoticed. 
Attitudes are slow to change, despite clear and compelling evidence.
