If they look clear and consistently translucent, with no dark spots, no tracheal mites
If they have dark spots, tracheal mites.
Don't get discouraged, this is best done at lower magnifications like 20x - 40x.
If I can do it, you can do it.
Get the light source reflecting off a white sheet of paper to evenly back-light the trachea, and get that "collar" torn off around the neck area to expose the trachea better.
