>The protocol would be to insert a clean stickyboard under each hive, andthen apply the accelerant to cause immediate mite drop. The accelerant canbe powdered sugar, formic acid, amitraz, or perhaps essential oil.For consideration when determining accelerant is to whether for your circumstances ... is that product legal in hives? In our situation it has been only over time that products have been government registered, primarily so off use label doesnt result in product (honey) contamination. You may have already prepared for this.And/orWill it work? In our example we were unsure of where the mite orginated from and whether it came resistant to our emergency approved accelerant.Fyi i found it easier after pulling sticky boards (SB) to place in a larger clean plastic bag. Once in there we adhered the plastic to SB then we could circle varroa mites on the board. And they couldnt go anywhere! We also made sure to write hive details on the back of SB before we put them in the hive! Grin!Sent from Samsung tablet.
