I think I have read somewhere of trying to control the mating of selected queens by selected drones by restricting the emergence of both drones and queens until late in the day after most, if not all, the drones in the area have returned to their (a) hive, thus controlling the queens to those selected and the drones to those selected.   Has anyone tried this method and if so, has there been any testing to see if the method worked?  (I.E. using both cordovan queens and cordovan drones in an area with a lot of regular Italians.)
