Hi all
The main question with irradiating bee equipment is cost. On behalf of the Dyce Bee Lab, I shipped several pallet loads of supers to be irradiated. Being a research lab, they did not consider cost. I calculated the total cost to be equal or greater than the value of brand new supers. Using gamma rays to kill beetles is daft, anyway. Conventional fumigants are effective, the same sort as are used on stored grain and other food commodities. We had this discussion here about 4 years ago. Look up phosphine. You could/should get someone to apply it for you but it has to be cheaper than wrapping and shipping hundreds of old bee boxes.
Pete
