Hence, it is possible that the ovaries may be protected to preserve the vital reproductive functions.
<><><>  So, with this information might this be an avenue of investigation to see if there might bee an opportunity to find an agent which would suppress or mitigate the onset DWV in the honeybee?  If so, how and by whom?
