To go from getting 100-200 pounds per hive to 1 or 2 frames per hive, is this worth even talking about?

>This is to assume a person's PURPOSE in keeping bees is ONLY about honey. There are a multitude of reason's people keep bees and we have known for at least 50 years that the value of pollination is 10 fold the value of the honey crop produced. For certain it has only been the past 25 or so years that for the beekeeping business that this pollination value could be properly monetized. I know of at least one commercial concern here that does not give a flip if it makes a drop of honey but does seem to be pretty successful (in a money sense) in renting bees for pollination purposes.

>There's long list of other reasons (purposes) people may keep bees and at least here (Texas) the advantage of having bees on a larger land holding to divert their property tax bill is a new addition to this list. Most of these reasons/purpose have no preference as to the size or shape of the box.

>Of course there is the ethical reason to keep bees around and doing well but to hear some folks you might think their only value to us is honey! Ethics and economics says... well not so much.
