A few years there was a lot of interest in Synthetic QMP. This was written in 1993:

The experiments we have described in this paper have suggested numerous commercial applications of queen mandibular pheromone. Synthetic QMP products currently are available for package bee shipments, queen rearing applications, swarm traps, Disposable Pollination Units, (all under the name 'Bee Boost') -- Mark L Winston & Keith N Slessor (1993) Applications of Queen Honey Bee Mandibular Pheromone for Beekeeping and Crop Pollination, Bee World, 74:3, 111-128, DOI: 10.1080/0005772X.1993.11099171

Has anyone reading this had experience with Bee Boost, either pro or con?
