Pete, I must beg to differ. I learn a lot from proprietary information
(from many sources), that then informs me, or gives me ideas for further
research that can then be published and verified.
In this case, I find Jerry's anecdotal observations to be of great value,
since I'm working on an explanatory hypothesis to explain the results of a
large field trial that me and my crew performed. Jerry's observations,
despite not being vetted by reviewers, are quite valuable to me and my
understanding of this specific aspect of bee behavior.
