>>> February can be make or break in my view; good weather allows collection of early pollen, e.g. hazel, and possibly nectar as well if near snowdrops, <><><> We started getting henbit bloom here in mid December. Now, in mid January it is in full bloom. Wild mustard has been up and blooming since the first week in January. Where am I? I'm in LA (Lower Alabama) - about 1/2 way between Montgomery and Mobile, Alabama, USA.
Had a call from someone who I started in bees last year after many years away. The person insisted that the colony was swarming. I tried to dissuade the beekeeper from that stance but he/she "knew" what he/she was seeing. I went down late that afternoon and the colony was in a 'normal' condition. I explained that what he/she probably saw was new bees conducting orientation flights. Funny
