Hi Everyone,

Got this photo from a mentee asking what the black ash-like substance is. I've never seen it before so please share your thoughts if you have.  The odd part of this story is the next day after the beekeeper initially discovered this condition, all the half-eaten brood was gone and since then there are no signs of reoccurrence. I'm thinking, it's not AFB or EFB but may somehow be related to hygienic behavior.   Appreciate your comments.
