I have the tech reports from Jerry Hayes, regarding Vita test kits.  They've about as good as it gets.

I can note that there's a learning curve as to how to properly use the kits.  You need to shake the ell out of the sample to properly homogenize it.   It's a miniature ball mill, needs to be used as one.  And you need to sample cells that have visible signs of foul brood.
