I have 2 packages and 1 nuc that I am nursing along feeding sugar water.
I have an empty brood box on top of each.
There are two small pieces of wood that I place along the hole in the inner cover.
I set the plastic feeder jars on the top of the pieces of wood.
I have been in these hives more than 20 times each checking and filling the jars with sugar water.
Shake off the bees when I lift the jar out.
Those that stay on, I flick off with my fingers.
I do where a veil most of the time.
I had never been stung before even though I have bare hands and arms.
The bees congregate on the wooden strips.
In order not to crush them I flick them off.
I thought I would try this bee brush that I have.
It has plastic bristles.
I took one swipe with the brush and the bees swarmed me.
I got some beneficial stings.
