Here in the UK the Bee Inspector told me that 94% of imported honey contains AFB spores.  He reckoned that my solitary case of AFB probably came from an old jar on a tip.  He examined all my other hives in many apiaries and all other people's hives within a few miles of where my hive was without finding any.  That's another advantage of not keeping many hives in one place. Currently I have 14 hives in 13 apiaries plus a few baited empty hives on other sites.
