Dr. Delaney gave a presentation to the NCSU Apiculture Online program last
week. One of her slides indicated that *Apis mellifera cypria *was
introduced to the US around 1880, compared to *Apis mellifera ligustica* in
1859 (and *caucasica *in 1880-82) (Accessible Here

approximations no doubt, as logs and records are not quite so accurate (as
Pete can explain, and has explained, better than anyone).
I imagine a breeder could advertise Cyprian bees in 1950 about as
accurately as they could advertise Italian or Caucasian.
