Since randy gave you credit for rescources for his comb test, I have to defer to you judgment that 1 to 1 has its reasons though randy's test to my eyes seem to disprove it.  I also thought it was interesting that his test did not seem to make the case for winter feeding of 2 to1 as weight gain in the hive was the same based on sugar content and not water content in the same amount of time.  This conclution does depend on if I can really read though.
