I'm not clear that this study actually showed a paternal effect, but I'm
willing to entertain the notion.<
My exact thoughts. The experimental design seems to me to be self-limited. It reminds me of the pesticide studies that show gene activation, but fail to note that other stressors may do the same. Or those that show that some neonicotinoid used in a cage trial induced some effect such as temporary memory loss without comparing the degree to which other, more traditional - neurological action - pesticides may or may not have the same or maybe even a more pronounced effect.
