So queens have been evaluated on measures available to most beekeepers, like weight (higher weight linked to higher vitellogenin https://link.springer.com/content/pdf/10.1051%2Fapido%2F2010027.pdf) and thorax width (larger width linked to more sperm and higher numbers of drones, same paper, but not in previous papers).  They have also been evaluated on measures harder for most of us to access, like number of ovarioles, virus load, stuff that I can't do at my kitchen table easily.  

Anyone could measure weight and thorax width - but what about actual queen performance?  Number of eggs/day, laying pattern, number of frames of brood possible at max production (predicted by # eggs/day)?  

Aren't those measured too?
