However, it should not be used as a stand-alone treatment. If overused or
used at high dosages, oxalic acid can harm bees by crystalizing in the
midgut of larvae, increasing larval mortality and reducing brood area.
Overuse of this treatment can also decrease the activity and longevity of
workers.

The question becomes: Given a steady dose of oxalic acid vapors, how long
should one expect before an oxalic acid-immune population of Varroa is
developed?
