What I have found that people do is what I eventually did two years ago. I
bought plastic medium foundation, cut it down to shallow and put into
wooden frames. It actually works out well but my days of cut comb are over.
But then, they were well before I bought the plastic.
I will buy 10 frames of the medium green drone comb and cut them down for
an experiment. My carbide blade on my bench saw make a smooth cut, Just
have to go slow. My guess is it will be a mess with the bees building down
past the bottom and merging with the next frame below it. My bees would
quote Ollie- 'that's another fine mess you've gotten me (us) into."
