Until humans started mixing bee species and mites around, each species in
Asia had its own mite (correct me if that's incorrect), despite being
exposed to other bee species and their mites. So there appears to be some
limitation as to how many mite species adapt to a single bee species. But
now A. cerana is dealing with both varroa and tropilaelaps. Unfortunately,
Trevor, neither of us will be around long enough to see how it works out
evolutionarily.
