"My sons needed to emergency evacuate three yards of bees ahead of fire,
under the supervision of Animal control. They were not allowed to evacuate
a fourth, and needed to wait until the area was reopened yesterday. We
lucked out -- the fire did not cross the road adjacent to the apiary!"
Randy, thank you for sharing that your family and bees are okay. It
definitely is a scary time. In the SF Bay Area, the smoke has been bad at
times, and last Wednesday never got light out, similar to your photo.
However, our urban bees are still safe from fire, so we are fortunate.
