When marking queens the pens sold by most beekeeping supply houses and those found in the open markets produce colored dots that are colored but do NOT stand out as brilliantly visible in ordinary light. I have come across some neon fabric paint in a sewing store. The brand is "Tulip" and comes in six neon colors, the only queen color which is missing is white. I've tried it on paper and it seems to dry to a hard 'skin' in just a minute or two. I'm wondering if any others out there have tried this product as a means to mark their queens and if so, how it worked for them.
