Hi Chris,

I was expecting that from you or someone else across the pond. I realize that not all Amm are hot, but in the US they had that reputation back in the 1800s. I think I recall someone saying that it was precisely because of importation of other types that hybrids were generated that had a bad disposition, and gave the black bees a bad name. 

Or maybe, the US black bees that were originally imported in the 1600s were more feisty than what you have now. Hard to say, but I apologize for repeating what may be a mischaracterization. All I know is that the jet black bees that ran all over the combs and stung me about 90 times, -- weren't Carnies. Nor were they African hybrids, at least not according to the Bee Lab.
