Jack Stewart was absolutely correct when he said metal dectector enthusiasts
have been and continue to be a big help to professional archeologists.  We
can learn much from "amateurs" and they from us.  I believe a  whole lot more
interaction between professionals and the lay public would serve to educate
both sides and to consolidate support for our profession.
