Posting for a Repatriation Specialist at the Museum of Indian Arts & Culture, Santa  Fe.

This position will be responsible for researching anthropological, linguistic, folklore, oral traditions and historical lines of evidence for cultural affiliation, as described within federal regulations 43 CFR 10 and for making recommendations on repatriation claims based on their research and consultation. This position will serve as a tribal liaison, responding to requests from Native American Tribes and Pueblos for consultation regarding repatriation requests, and provide support and assistance to the other members of the Museum's staff who are finalizing prior NAGPRA Inventories of the collections.
Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree In Anthropology (concentration in Cultural Anthropology), Applied Anthropology, History, Native American Studies, or Museum Studies, preferred; minimum of Associate’s Degree and experience in museum collections and historical research required.
Position is Full Time/40 hours per week, Temporary (180 day/6 month appointment); No Benefits included (no health insurance or PERA)
Salary Range, $13.83 - $24.06 Hourly; $28,766 - $50,045 Annually; Pay Band 60
