Wow, I knew HISTARCH would be a great place to come up with some solid
leads for our mystery object! Though we'll of course have to do further
investigation (including pXRF), my impression is that the enema pump
nozzles are a really close match both in terms of shape and configuration,
as well as manufacture, at least based on the images Lindsay linked to.
I'll check out the other possibilities further (including the sprinkler
nozzle), but for the moment I'm encouraged that we might have a very
plausible ID. Medical equipment would of course have been likely both for
the Luna expedition and shipboard, so it's entirely reasonable that's what
this is.
Many, many thanks for all the great ideas and help (and any additional
