The Society for Post-Medieval Archaeology is organising a one-day event at the University of Salford, UK on Friday 16th September, to encourage discussion and debate on recent post-medieval research and set agendas for the future. Particular note will be taken of the regional frameworks which are being revised and updated by Historic England at present, but papers which offer experience from previous revisions, and those considering wider national framework issues not only in England but across Britain and Ireland would be welcome.
This conference is part of the Society’s mission to inform and advise heritage agencies in the management and research of the post-medieval archaeological resource, and the event will attract a mix of contract, local authority, academic and independent archaeologists.
Please send offers of papers to Dr Mike Nevell, Centre for Applied Archaeology, University of Salford by email: [log in to unmask] by Friday 26 August.
Registration costs £20 including refreshments and buffet lunch. Further information can be found on the SPMA website: http://www.spma.org.uk/events/framing-the-post-medieval/
