The USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) is pleased to
announce the hiring of Charles C. "Charlie" Webber to fill the NRCS Cultural
Resources Specialist position that was vacated this past June when Dr. Miles
Gilbert retired. Charlie comes to NRCS from Grand Canyon National Park,
where he had worked as Vanishing Treasures archaeologist since 2009. Prior
to that he was an archaeologist with Walnut Canyon and Wupatki National
Monuments, the Gila River Indian Community, and cultural resources
management companies, and was a Visiting Professor of Anthropology at
Northern Arizona University. He is now stationed at the NRCS Area Office in
Flagstaff and primarily will be responsible for NRCS cultural resources
operations in northern Arizona and on the Navajo Reservation, including the
portions of that reservation in New Mexico and Utah.
