> Could fungal spores be one of the ingredients missing in our pollen subs?
Bees do sometimes collect fungal spores. In my area, they avidly collect,
store, and consume the spores of blackberry rust fungus. Unfortunately,
this is much to the colony's detriment, and they start to go downhill.
Feeding a pollen (and fungus spore) free pollen sub immediately turns the
colonies around, and they regain health and performance.
This observation of course is not a blanket condemnation of fungal spores.
There may be some that could be of benefit to bees.
