One model is where a share (25, 50 100%) of the honey is sold to the contributor. The contributor gets to participate in the beekeeping if they desire. There 1st year fee includes a similar percentage of the capital cost of the hive. There is some risk for someone with not very many established hives attempting this model (produce no honey therefore ethically some of the funds would need to be refunded if you want to stay in business) or operates in an area with inconsistent production years.

If the beeyards are diversified in multiple areas the risk can be spread out, and this approach can be used to help grow your honey business (cover a % capital costs).
