> And we really should wait a bit, as the experience of the major cities is
only now starting to be repeated in the rural areas and smaller cities.
Due to the efficiency of the lockdowns in arresting the spread of the
virus, people are making the mistake of thinking
that the worst is over, ignoring the fact that only a minuscule proportion
of the rural population has yet been exposed
to the virus. This would include the labor pool of most commercial
beekeeping operations.
Coronavirus is just starting to hit my county, and I doubt that any of the
labor pool of the 7 of us in our operation have yet been exposed. There
are nearby operations with far larger labor pools. Although we don't add
up to anywhere Jim's 66,000, I'll bet that we will fairly soon
gain a pretty good idea of whether regular exposure to bee stings will
protect us.
