Randy;
I read Jennifer Berry's column in Bee Culture describing the shop towel
trial in Georgia under high humidity. I also realize you guys are working
on this. Any speculation about what may be affecting the efficacy under
humid conditions?
My observation is that OA crystals are not particularly hygroscopic. I
store OA in a five gallon bucket with a loose lid and don't see any
problems whereas even granulated sugar will absorb moisture when stored in
plastic lined bags in my climate in North Carolina.
I know you have high heat in the California foothills. We get heat and
really high humidity in the Southeast particularly in the fall when these
tropical systems come through. I can hear heavy rain on the roof as I
write this as the remnants of Hurricane Willa pass through.
