Dear all,

The Guidelines for Conducting Historic Resources Survey in Virginia are
currently being revised by the Department of Historic Resources, and the
Council of Virginia Archaeologists are developing recommendations for the
parts of the Guidelines relevant to archaeological investigations. We would
love to hear from archaeologists who have worked in Virginia regarding what
their experiences are of working with the Guidelines, and whether, where,
and how they feel revisions would be helpful.

Additionally, you are welcome to email me directly if you have more
extensive recommendations and I will forward it to the committee.
Responses would be appreciated by July 31st.

We really appreciate your thoughts and expertise. Additionally, if you have
state guidelines that you especially like for any particular type of survey
or stage of investigation (especially from the Mid-Atlantic or southeast),
we would love to know that.
