Thanks, Nick for bringing this to folks' attention. I posted on the benefit of Japanese and other plants of the knotweed (Polygonaceae) family. However, comments are 9 to 1 in favor of attempting to control it. I doubt however that they will make much of a dent. In any case, beekeepers should have a voice in these matters
