We understand this objection, and as with every other rule, it is an ideal more than a reality and, of course, there are exceptions.
The message in question is a document to consult if you see that your post was not okayed.
Breaking rules does not automatically guarantee rejection. Some rules are more flexible than others.
BEE-L is a group discussion of ideas. We submit and weigh *ideas* and discuss *things*, but avoid personalities to the extent possible. Sometimes an attribution is appropriate, as already explained, like when citing studies, but when addressing an idea, it is seldom helpful unless asking some specific person for input. we should not care who made a previous comment and Ideally anyone should feel comfortable replying to any message.
