"mitochondrial DNA is not
relevant. Instead it serves only as an accurate way to trace ancestry."
Actually it is a crappy way to trace ancestry. It just tells you about the accidental unbroken female linage but nothing at all about the DNA linage. My mitochondrial DNA would say I am pure English. In fact I am something less than 25% English. How much less? Hard to say. Most likely number would be about 10%, but it could well be lower depending on who had an affair with who and how much American Indian got mixed in that no one wants to talk about. I suppose like lots of families mine has more people that are not to be mentioned then are allowed to be named. There likely is some American Indian as I have ancestors that made a living selling illegal booze to the Indians. Everyone needs at least one horse thief in their family tree after whom they can proudly name their dog.
