Please do read thru page 2 which should give you some idea of pesticides and beekeeper applied pesticides in beehives. If you were involved in the Honeybee Health Initiative you likely know the extent of the list of known chemical products in hives.
From what I have been told (USDA and BIP sources) apivar (and I would guess the active ingredient in Tactic) decompose fairly quickly but this does not mean this secondary products are not inconsequential to the intermediate or long term health of the hive.
I personally am a bit alarmed at the off label use of Tactic by some beekeepers and this concern not only is in regards to the health of bees but the health of folks working bees.
